STRUCTWEL is on the forefront in developing non-destructive testing techniques and other diagnostic aids for use in the laboratory and field. We have fully equipped material testing laboratory as also basic structural engineering research facilities and custom testing devices that have been developed to meet special project requirements. Almost a full complement of equipments is available for any field testing, including facilities to measure strength, strain, vibration, deflection, moisture and relative humidity, steel thickness and reinforcing, steel locations.

Before
constructing roads, bridges, tunnels, tanks,
reservoirs and buildings, selection of site is
important from the viewpoint of stability of
foundation and availability of construction materials.
-
Geology of
area is important and rock-forming region, their
physical nature, permeability, faults, joints, etc.
-
The knowledge
of Erosion, Transportation and Deposition (ETD) by
surface water helps in soil conservation, river
control, coastal and harbour works.
-
The
foundation problems of dams, bridges and buildings are
directly related with geology of the area where they
are to be built.
-
The knowledge
of ground water is necessary in connection with
excavation works, water supply, irrigation and many
other purposes.
-
Geological
maps and sections help considerably in planning many
engineering projects
-
Pre-geological survey of the area concerned reduces
the cost of engineering work

Our constant and consistent involvement with R&D efforts keeps us energetic, fresh and enthusiastic, and our material testing laboratory is one of its fruitful outcomes. With approximately 10,000 sq. ft. of research and testing facilities, STRUCTWEL has immense flexibility to undertake development efforts of a wide range of construction related problems. We undertake to resolve quality assessment of new materials; their field performance response and development of repair technique to match design provisions etc.
